ACL play-offs: JDT draw Muangthong, Hanoi get Kitchee

Malaysian giants Johor Darul Ta’zim have been drawn against Thai outfit Muangthong United in the play-offs east zone.

The Southern Tigers will battle Muangthong in a one-legged game in Bangkok for a place in the third and final round of qualifying stage after being given a first-round bye following the improvement of Malaysia’s member association ranking in the AFC.

Of the other ties of east zone, Vietnamese team and Hong Kong side captures the imagination, while club meet another Thai side as take on – to be determined – Thai Premier League third-placed team.
