Kaya FC has signed three new foreign players to prepare for next year AFC Cup, including former Brisbane Roar goalkeeper Matthew Acton.
Acton, from Thuringowa Central, Australia, played for Olympic FC before joining Kaya. He previously played for Yangon United in the Myanmar National League and became the first Australian goalkeeper to join the league. Upon his arrival, he started in all 14 of his league matches, keeping five clean sheets, and eventually helped Yangon finish second in the league. Prior to playing overseas, he spent seven years with A-League team Brisbane Roar, where he returned for a brief spell before joining Olympic FC in 2015. He also represented Australia at the U20 level.
Beside Acton, Kaya FC also signed with Isaac Annan, former U20 Ghana striker and Robert Lopez Mendy, one of the best strikers in United Football League.
Kaya FC will represent Philippines in next year AFC Cup and they were drawn in group F with Maldive’s New Radiant, Balestier Khalsa from Singapore and a team from Hong Kong.
