Beijing Guoan of the Chinese Super League has presented their new coach Alberto Zaccheroni. The Capital Club, who finished fourth place in the league last season, also had a number of new foreign additions that were introduced to the media and fans.
The 62-year-old Italian donned a Guoan scarf and greeted the audience. Joining him on stage were four new foreign signings, Renato Augusto, MVP of Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A; Ralf Teles and Kleber Pinheiro, defensive midfielders from Corinthians, and Egor Krimets from Uzbekistan, who has returned to the team for a second time.
The Chinese Super League has been developing rapidly in the past years, with the huge investment from domestic tycoons involved in this sport, there has been an influx of famous foreign coaches and players to China.
“I think the level of the Super League is already pretty high and you can see that from the players that each club have introduced in the last two years. Before, many foreign players were all at their end of their careers, but now every club is introducing very high level foreign players in their prime,” Zaccheroni said.
