packed a punch in a 3-1 drubbing of Singaporean heavyweights  to become the first Indian club to win a match in the  qualifier at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan.

Jeje Lalpekhlua, Cornell Glen and Katsumi Yusa scored for Mohun Bagan while Yasir Hanapi struck the lone goal for Tampines Rovers in the 43rd minute.

Mohun Bagan’s Haitian recruit Norde made the difference on a day Cornell Glen had a miserable run that included missing a penalty.

Mohun Bagan will now travel to China to face Shandong at the Jinan Olympic Sports Centre Stadium next Tuesday with the winners taking on 2008 ACL runners-up Adelaide United in Australia on February 9, with a place in Group F of the 2016 AFC Champions League at stake.
