DPMM FC’s centre-back Brian McLean will form a new partnership in the heart of defence after the end of Boris Raspudic’s spell with the club and the associated pressure that comes with guiding the player beside him will be something he relishes in the upcoming S-League season.
The local player who will now set to fill the gap vacated by Raspudic, who currently plies his trade in Bosnia’s Premier League’s outfit FK Borac Banja Luca, should be feeling less pressure in the fact that they have been in the squad for a couple of seasons and would be ready to start.
“One of the local players will play beside McLean. It’s pressure that Brian will enjoy because it lets him use his experience to help develop a young player. I don’t think the lad will feel the pressure because he has been in the squad for a few years. Whoever selected to play there, will be ready to play,” DPMM FC head coach Steve Kean said.
“It gives an opportunity anytime that there is a suspension, injury and now a permanent move where Joe and Boris are no longer here,” Kean said.
“We’ve been quite a settled squad over the last two years and we hope that whoever is given the opportunity will step up and make sure they can perform at a high level because last year we’ve set very high standards for ourselves as a club,” he added.
