The Japanese attacker has agreed to join J2 League outfit Kyoto Sanga, local news reported.
The son of former Argentine-Japanese footballer Sergio Ariel Escudero, the ex-FC Seoul player was hailed as a hero when he assisted Croatian midfielder Sammir in the second period of extra time of the final to hand Jiangsu Suning the Chinese FA Cup with a 1-0 aggregate win over Shanghai Shenhua.
With the Chinese FA Cup title, Jiangsu qualified for the 2016 AFC Champions League, despite finishing ninth in the Chinese Super League.
However, after the arrival of Brazilian attackers Alex Teixeira and Jo, Jiangsu Suning has accepted Kyoto Sanga’s offer for Sergio Escudero. The details of the offer was undisclosed.
Before joining Jiangsu Suning, the Japanese player spent seven seasons playing for Urawa Red Diamonds, winning the J. League title and the Emperor’s Cup with them in 2006.
He joined South Korean side FC Seoul on loan in 2012, and after impressing in the team, his loan was made permament at the end of the season. He scored in the first leg of the 2013 AFC Champions League Final against China side Guangzhou Evergrande, but the team lost on away goal.
