An Asian football match that saw one of the worst goal-keeping ‘blunders’ of all time has been flagged as a “suspicious match” by FIFA.
The AFC Cup clash between Tajik club Altyn Astyn and Lebanon’s Al Ahed was played in the Turkmen capital of Ashgabat on Tuesday,
Altyn Astyn went on to win the match 2-0 with one goal coming thanks to an apparent blunder by Al Ahed goalkeeper Hassan Bittar.
A Lebanese defender rolled the ball back to the custodian who under no pressure whatsoever lifted his foot over the ball and missed it completely.
As it rolled towards the goal Bittar backtracked and dived to the ground but was didn’t stop the ball from crossing the line.
