The Spanish player has joined Bali United on trial, and has been practicing with the first team, sources said.
A production of the Spanish youth system, Melquiades played for Real Betis, Barcelona B and Malaga, before making the move to Vietnam in 2013, joining Xi Mang Xuan Thanh Sai Gon. He also played for Dong Nai, SHB Da Nang and Than Quang Ninh.
Local newspapers reported that Melquiades took part in a training with the first team on Tuesday (March 8) morning, along with Lee Jeong Woo, another player on trial with Bali United.
Both players seemed to enjoyed the training session under the direction of assistant coach and physical trainer Nur Saelan.
According to reports, Bali United are looking to sight quality foreign players in order to compete in the league. Along with Melquiades and Lee Jeong Woo, former Brazil U-20 player Lucas Patinho will also join the Indonesian side on trial, CEO Jabez Tanuri confirmed.
