A comeback of the top-flight league looked painful for the big clubs, when United lost the leading position, while United struggled to win.

The last year’s five-trophy champions extended their 41 unbeaten games in the domestic league, after drawing Suphanburi FC 2-2 at New I-Mobile Stadium.

Under the new head coach Ricardo Rodriguez Zapatero, Suphanburi was after Buriram 0-1 in the first half, thanks to Theerathon Bunmathan’s magnificent scoring.

The visitors managed to restore, when Prat Samakrat scored the equaliser before Jakkaphan Ponsai gave
Suphanburi the lead from a penalty in the 68th minute.

However, Buriram’s youngster Anon Amornlertsak equalised as the host eventually shared the spoils with Suphanburi.

Nakhonratchasima FC 1 – 2 Bangkok Glass FC
(Bjorn Lindemann 38’ / Surachat Sareepim 55’, Thanasit Siripala, 90+1’)

Bangkok Glass collected important 3 points and are leading the table of Toyota Thai League 2016.

Both teams were closed to scoring their first goal, but struggled to find the net. It was the host who took the 1-0 leading when German attacker Bjorn Lindemann converted a determinate penalty. The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the host.

In second half, Bangkok Glass used the whole half to get back to their game and soon managed to hit the equaliser.

The visiting side finally opened their first score in the 55th minute by Surachat Sareepim, before securing the winning goal from Thanasit Siripala or “Taodinho” in the added time of the game. Bangkok Glass won over Nakhonratchasima 2-1.

In 5th round of Toyota Thai League 2016, Bangkok United performed to turn the table in their favor by defeating the league leader Muangthong United 3-2 in last 10 minutes of the game.

Bangkok United midfielder Sanrawat Dechmitr opened the scoring early in the game, when he lobbed the shot through the goalkeeper, and the first half ended with his only goal in the 5th minute.

The two of Muangthong United substitutions truly availed their game, at the beginning of the second half, when Adisak Kraisorn and Cleiton netted from the spot to put the hosts 2-1 up.

Bangkok United was inferior to Muangthong United but the Angels never die! Mario Gjurovski and Teeratep Winothai, Muangthong’s Alumnus, gave the pain to their former team, scoring two goals at the 80th and 86th minute.

Muangthong United was beaten at home 2 – 3 and this game was the second defeat
in a row.

Muangthong United drops to the 3rd place, while Bangkok United rises to the 2nd of the table.
