Buriram United boss Alexandre Gama cut a frustrated figure after watching his side’s elimination from the Asian Champions League following a 2-0 loss to Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Tuesday.
Miyayoshi Takumi and Kosei Shibasaki scored the winning goals for the J.League champions at Thunder Castle Stadium, which saw the Thai outfit ended their continental journey in an early fashion.
The last season’s domestic Thai double winners are on the brink to record the worst goal difference in their fifth appearance in ACL’s group stage, having conceded 14 goals without scoring any goals in first four loss.
“We were the better side in the first-half but after they scored they took control,” the Brazilian tactician told the official AFC website.
“We got back into the game but again they took a chance at the end and killed the game. This is football, if you don’t score you lose the game.
“We will try to win the remaining two games [against FC Seoul and Shandong Luneng] to lift the confidence of the team and improve the side, as we don’t want to lose all of our games.”
