Jason Cunliffe has returned to Guam after an unsuccessful trial with Indonesian Soccer Championship (ISC) side Bhayangkara Surabaya United.
Surabaya United took the Guam skipper on two-week trial, but have not been impressed enough to offer the 32-year-old a contract after involving in three friendlies against Persib Bandung, Gresik United and Perseru Serui.
“We have sent Jason back to Guam. He got his chance to join our trial but I think that was enough. We need natural striker, while he is not,” Ibnu Grahan, the club’s coach told local reporters.
Cunliffe spent majority of his career in the Guam league with Quality Distributors, Guam Shipyard and Rovers FC. In 2012, he played in the Philippines’ United Football League with Pachanga FC.
