Syrian Arab Federation for Football (SAFF) has announced that its national team will not play against Vietnam due to a schedule change.
Previously, Syria is scheduled to play a friendly match against the Golden Stars at the My Dinh stadium on May 31. However, a recent change was made on the schedule and as a result, the Syrian national team won’t be able to travel to Vietnam on time.
According to a Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) official, Turkmenistan has accepted an invitation to replace Syria, and Vietnam will play against the Central Asian team on May 31 instead.
Vietnam will participate in a friendly tournament hosted by Myanmar in June 2016. Hong Kong and Singapore will join the Golden Stars and host nation Myanmar in the tournament.
