Vietnamese forward Nguyen Cong Phuong has made his highly-anticipated J2 League debut with Mito Hollyhock in a match against Giravanz Kitakyushu on Saturday.
The 21-year-old player came off the bench in the 87th minute when his side was 1-0 down and didn’t have enough time to make an impact.
However, Mito Hollyhock did manage to equalize in stoppage time thanks to a goal scored by Japanese striker Hiroki Bandai.
Previously, Cong Phuong broke his collarbone in a match against UAE in the 2016 AFC U23 Championship in January. The injury kept him out of action for four months.
