The midfielder’s representatives have been in the People’s Republic talking to Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu Suning.

SIPG – managed by Sven Goran Eriksson – and Jiangsu have both offered Toure packages that will make him one of the richest footballers in the world.

Toure, 33, has one year left on his existing contract and City have been reluctant to negotiate a new one before Pep Guardiola takes over.

City have been told by Toure’s camp that he wants to leave on a free transfer this summer or he will buy himself out of his contract for around £10million.

Shanghai SIPG and Jiangsu are both willing to pay Toure a signing-on fee believed to be a bumper £20million.

A source in told SunSport: “Yaya’s had his people meeting with both Shanghai and Jiangsu and they have both made firm offers.

“Buying himself out of his contract at City would not be a problem because he would recoup it twice over from the signing on fee he would get for coming over here.”
