Thai Premier League outfit Buriram United has sacked coach Alexandre Gama, official sources confirmed.
The Brazilian manager, who won the league titles twice with Buriram United, was replaced by former Iran national team head coach Afshin Ghotbi, according to reports.
Buriram United’s decision to sack Alexandre Gama came after a string of disappointing performances that saw the team trail by as much as 8 points behind league leaders Muangthong United.
Previously, the Brazilian coach has guided Buriram United to back-to-back league titles in 2014 and 2015. His team also won the Thai FA Cup and Thai League Cup in 2015, as well as the Kor Royal Cup in 2015 and 2016.
