In the light of Vietnamese international Luong Xuan Truong’s K League Classic debut, Football Channel Asia looks back at four Southeast Asian players who played or are playing in the Korean professional leagues.
1. Piyapong Pue-on (Thailand – Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso)
Piyapong Pue-on was one of the top strikers from Thailand in the 1980s. He also had a two-year stint at Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso (now FC Seoul), from 1984 to 1986.
During his spell with the Korean side, Piyapong made 34 league appearances, scoring 17 goals and helped the team win the league title in 1985.
