Shanghai SIPG manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has denied rumors that Hangzhou Greentown forward Tim Cahill will join the club in the near future.
Previously, according to Australian newspapers, the former Everton player has been in negotiation to sign a six-month deal with Shanghai SIPG. However, the Swedish manager was quick to dispel any rumors about a possible transfer.
“Cahill is an outstanding player, but I haven’t heard anything about a transfer from the club. I don’t think the club will make a bid for him at this point”, Eriksson said.
Tim Cahill joined Hangzhou Greentown in February 2016 after a short stint with Shanghai Shenhua. He has made 10 league appearance, scoring 2 goals this season.
