Romanian manager Dan Petrescu has resigned from the post at Jiangsu Suning FC, an official statement read.
The club has appointed Chinese coach Tang Jing as the interim manager.
Jiangsu Suning has gone three matches in a row without a win, which resulted in them lagging behind league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande by 6 points. The team’s inconsistent performances are considered a key contributor to the Romanian manager’s departure.
According to local newspapers, Jiangsu Suning is looking to sign Italian manager Cesare Prandelli as a replacement for the Romanian.
The former Italy national team head coach has been unemployed since 2014, when he was sacked by Turkish club Galatasaray after an unconvincing European campaign.
