Vietnamese striker Le Cong Vinh to retire after 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup

Vietnamese international player confirmed in an interview that he will retire from football after the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup.

“This year’s AFF Suzuki Cup will be the last time I play for the national team. Next year I will retire from football”, the Becamex Binh Duong striker said.

Le Cong Vinh has represented in international tournaments since 2004. The 30 year-old striker has scored 46 goals in more than 75 appearances for the Golden Stars, including an equalizer against Thailand in the second leg of the 2008 AFF Suzuki Cup Final, which helped won the tournament for the first time.

More recently, the striker scored a goal in a 3-0 victory over Singapore in the 2016 AYA Bank Cup final.
