Toyota Thai League Round 15: Buriram United succumb to another home defeat

Toyota round 15 saw the last-year invincible champions were haunted at home, while high-flying Muangthong United continued their league dominance.

Another well-known Thai side Chonburi FC slipped three points after 0-1 loss against Sisaket FC.

The Sharks are facing the hard time as they has lost three Thai League games in a row. A nightmare for Chonburi started with their struggle to take the lead as the two Brazilian forwards Leandro Assumpcao and Rodrigo Vergilio missed good chances to break the deadlockl.

Sisaket found their gear to strike back but lacked of cool finishes in the last area. Phuwadol Suwannachart’s shot almost put the host up front, but it was the Chonburi’s goalkeeper who stopped Ratchaburi from taking the lead. First half ended up scoreless.

It was home side who managed to break the deadlock in the second half. Komsan slotted home in the 57th minute, helping Sisaket beat Sharks and took the important three points on their own home soil.

Sisaket stands at the ninth place, and Chonburi drops to the eleventh of the table.

Buriram 0-1 Ratchaburi

Ratchaburi breaks all-timed curse against Buriram, when Portuguese striker Yannick scored the single goal at the Thunder Castle’s home.

It was a bright start from Ratchaburi as they had tons of chances to take the lead in the first half. The clearest opportunity was a Heberty’s curved left-footed free-kick that flew over the bar in the 23th minute.

The defending champions, Buriram United, tried to strike back but struggled to net the opening goal.

Int he last minute before half-time was called, the visitors finally took the lead as former Portugal national player Yannick Djalo’s superb volley brought Ratchaburi up front over Buriram.

The Home side spent the whole second half trying to equalise but all the efforts were to no avail as Buriram lost Ratchaburi for the first time in the history with the score 0-1.

Buriram, with disappointed performance this season, remains at the fourth spot, meanwhile, Ratchburi is now at seventh on the log.

Muangthong United 2-0 Chainat Hornbill

Muangthong United maintained their top spot after a magnificent 2-0 triumph over Chainat Hornbill at home.

The game went by a spell of Muangthong dominance. Thai super star Teerasin Daengda slotted home a stunning left-footed shot after only four minutes of play.

It did not stop there as the home side quickly doubled the lead in the 27th minute. N’Dri swept in a second goal to seal an easy victory, helping Muangthong maintain their leading status for another week.

Winning 10 games in a row made Muangthong stay strong on the top spot, while Chainat is just five points above the bottom of the table.
