Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Brazilian forward Hulk from Zenit. Hulks representatives are in talks, and he’s currently waiting to see the positioning of the Russian club.
According to UOL Esporte, the transfer fee is believed to be around €55 million and the offer has pleased Hulk in recent days. Initially, the soon 30-year-old was willing to continue in Russia, but is now set to accept to move to the Asian country.
The value is exactly what was paid to Portuguese team FC Porto by Zenit four years ago. Zenit will be coached by former Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu in the upcoming season, but they would be willing to give up the player for the high transfer fee.
The attacker comes from an outstanding season for Zenit, where he scored 23 goals. Currently, Shanghai SIPG have four foreigners in their squad; Argentine playmaker Darío Conca, Brazilian striker Elkeson, Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan and Evrard Kouassi from Côte d’Ivoire.
