Caio leaves Kashima Antlers to join Al Ain

Kashima Antlers forward Caio is set for a move to Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates, a source close to the matter said Friday.

The 22-year-old Brazilian, who joined Kashima in 2014 after attending high school in Chiba Prefecture, went on to be named the rookie of the year, scored five goals in 16 league games this season for the first-stage champion Antlers.

Caio, who has netted 23 goals in 78 games in two-and-a-half seasons with Antlers, was set to miss the second-stage opener at home to Gamba Osaka.
