Graziano Pelle is set to leave Southampton for Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng in a £13million deal.
The Italy striker will bring to an end two years on the south coast after joining from Dutch side Feyenoord for £8m and the sale will leave Southampton with a £5m profit.
Pelle, 30, was brought over to England by former Southampton manager Ronald Koeman and it is believed the Dutchman considered taking him to new club Everton.
But Pelle has opted for a lucrative move to the Far East as China continue to show off their spending power.
A ready-made replacement, Austin will compete with Jay Rodriguez and Shane Long in the attacking positions once Pelle’s move is complete.
