Malaysian Super League club Kedah has announced the signing of All Whites striker Shane Smeltz.
The 34-year-old Kiwi is in Malaysia to finalise a deal that will result in him leaving Sydney FC for the rest of 2016.
Kedah announced the capture of the 51-cap All White on Tuesday.
Smeltz has scored 83 goals in nine A-League seasons and spent the past two with years with Sydney FC.
Kedah is fifth after 12 rounds of this season’s MSL and trails league leaders Johur Darul Ta’zim by 14 points.
His departure leaves Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold with just four striking options – Alex Brosque, Matt Simon, Filip Holosko and George Blackwood – ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
