Japanese goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima will leave Dundee United to join Dutch club NEC, according to sources.
The Japanese international player joined Dundee United in 2015, but failed to impress at the Scotish club. His contract with the club was terminated following the team’s relegation from the Scottish top-flight league.
According to reports, Kawashima has been approached by Eredivisie outfit NEC, and has agreed to joined the club to play in the upcoming season.
Eiji Kawashima made the move to Europe in 2010, joining Belgian club Lierse S.K. He left the club in 2012 to join Standard Liege, before moving to Scotland in 2015.
The veteran goalkeeper has also represented Japan on international level, participating in the 2007, 2011 and 2015 Asian Cup, as well as the 2010 and 2014 World Cup.
