Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Teda has officially announced that Spanish coach Jamie Pacheco will replace Dragan Okuka as the team’s manager.
Okuka was sacked last Sunday after a string of bad performances which saw Tianjin Teda slipped to the 12th position on the league table. The team is currently on a winless streak, with their last victory came on June 2016, more than a month ago.
According to sources, Pacheco was highly rated by Tianjin Teda’s board of directors despite the 2011 incident where he – at that time coached Beijing Guoan – was seen making obscene gestures to the team’s players and staffs.
Pacheco had stints with various club in Portugal, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Egypt before joining Beijing Guoan in 2011. However, he left the Chinese club in 2012.
