Indonesian striker Abduh Lestaluhu said he is confident of The Garuda’s chances in the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup, despite being pitted against some of the strongest teams in the region.
Indonesia was drawn into group A, along with four time champions Singapore, defending champions Thailand and co-hosts Philippines.
However, the 23 year old Abduh Lestaluhu seemed unfazed by the daunting challenge awaiting the team in the tournament.
“This is not something to be feared. The national team has spirit, and will be able to face every opponent”, the player told local newspapers.
“I think Indonesia is able to advance from the group stage, as long as the players are willing to work hard”, he said.
Abduh Lestaluhu was named in a first-draft of the Indonesia national team by head coach Alfred Riedl.
