Thailand national team head coach Kiatisuk has called on Thai fans to cheer for the team in the match against Japan.
Kiatisuk and his players are hoping to make history in the third round of the 2018 World Cup qualification. However, the team was drawn into a relatively difficult group along with traditional powerhouse Japan and 2015 AFC Asian Cup champions Australia.
“On behalf of the team, I would like to thank all the Thai fans. I would also like the fans to cheer for us at our first home game against Japan. The team will play against the best players in Asia”, the former footballer said.
Thailand will begin their World Cup qualification campaign on September 1 in an away match at Saudi Arabia. Five days later, the War Elephants will host Japan in Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok.
