Phnom Penh Crown has announced that the team will participate in the 2017 AFC Cup, after winning an appeal over a suspension issued by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
Previously, the AFC refused Phnom Penh Crown’s entry to the 2017 AFC qualifying round after several club officials involved in a match-fixing scandal.
Phnom Penh Crown subsequently lodged a successful appeal with the Swiss-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which allowed them to participate in the upcoming 2017 AFC Cup qualification.
The Cambodia club has also annouced that the will participate in a friendly tournament in China this December, along with other clubs from Asia. The tournament will be held at the 6.000 seat capacity Guangxi Stadium.
