According to Japanese media, J-League is planning for the Capital Cup, which is expected to be held in Bangkok in February 2017.
Four popular clubs from the capital cities of Japan, China, South Korea and Thailand will be invited to play in the tournament.
Although official announcement isn’t available as of the moment, according to reports, the four clubs allegedly invited to play in the Capital Cup are Japan’s FC Tokyo, China’s Beijing Guoan, South Korea’s FC Seoul and Thailand’s Bangkok United.
Japanese sources said the tournament is heavily sponsored and its prize pool will reach 100 million yen ($1 million). J-League is considering Bangkok as the host city of the first edition of the Capital Cup, but at the moment other details of the tournament aren’t revealed yet.
