Thailand national team head coach Kiatisuk is set to announce the team’s squad list to play against the UAE and Iraq in early October, according to reports.
“The 23-player squad list will be announced in the next two or three days. There may be a surprise call up or two, we’ll see”, Kiatisuk told local newspapers.
“The remaining eight matches are not easy, but we are not discouraged. We have the opportunity to play against the best teams in Asia, and we like to see how Thai football has developed recently”, the former Hoang Anh Gia Lai player said.
This time around, Thailand will welcome midfielder Sarach Yooyen back to the squad, while Chonburi footballer Prakit Deeprom won’t be able to play against the UAE due to a suspension.
Thailand suffered two defeats against Saudi Arabia and Japan at the final stage of the 2018 World Cup qualification. The War Elephants will play two matches against the UAE and Iraq on October 6 and October 11, respectively.
