Filipino club Global FC has won the 2016 United Football League after a 7-0 thrashing of Laos FC.
A hat-trick from Matthew Hartmann as well as a brace Hikaru Minegishi helped the league leaders to record an important victory which left second-placed Ceres nine points behind, with just two matches to play.
This is the second trophy for Global FC this season. Previously, they have also won the UFL Cup.
The club also qualified for the 2017 AFC Cup group stage as 2016 United Football League and UFL Cup winners.
Ceres’ Adrian Gallardo is leading the top scorer race with 28 goals from 17 matches, leaving Phil Younghusband in the second place with 19 goals from as many matches.
