Vietnam national team defender Que Ngoc Hai could be sidelined for around a month after suffering an ankle injury in a friendly match against North Korea yesterday, according to local newspapers.
“My ankle hurts a lot and I know I couldn’t continue to play”, the Song Lam Nghe An footballer said.
According to diagnosis, Que Ngoc Hai could be out of action for up to a month, which puts him in doubt for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup.
The 23-year-old will return to Ho Chi Minh City on October 9 to receive extensive treatment.
At the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup, Vietnam are in group B, along with Myanmar, Malaysia and the qualification stage winners.
