Thailand national team has suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hand of Iraq yesterday – their fourth defeat in a row at the 2018 World Cup qualification.
Mohannad Abdulraheem scored all four goals as Iraq eased past Thailand for their first three points in the World Cup qualification stage.
After the match, coach Kiatisuk said he didn’t put the blame on his players, but rather the team had to accept the fact that Iraq is a very strong opponent.
“First of all, congratulations for Iraq on winning the match today. They are very strong and they played very well”, the former Hoang Anh Gia Lai footballer said in a post-match conference.
“Our players did well. They play to their best during the match. Unfortunately, we lost three key players due to injury, and it was too difficult to overcome”.
Thailand have lost all their four games at the 2018 World Cup qualification and have zero points. The War Elephants will face Australia at Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok on Nov 15.
