Thai Premier League outfit Chonburi is considering making a bit for Vietnamese wonderkid Nguyen Cong Phuong, according to local newspapers.
The 21-year-old attacker is currently playing for J1 League outfit Mito Hollyhock, on loan from Hoang Anh Gia Lai.
His loan deal will expire at the end of the 2016 season and Hoang Anh Gia Lai officials have confirmed that the player will return to the V.League club.
According to Vietnamese newspapers, with the new Thai football league regulation that allows clubs to register an ASEAN player, Chonburi will make a bid for Nguyen Cong Phuong. The Thai club hopes to secure his service for the next season.
Nguyen Cong Phuong made his name at international youth tournaments and has since become a regular player for Vietnam national team.
