Dutch-born naturalized Indonesian footballer Stefano Lilipaly has been called up to play two friendly matches against Myanmar and Vietnam in early November, official sources confirmed.
Lilipaly, who is eligible to play for Indonesia through his father, is currently playing for Dutch club Telstar.
The 26-year-old midfielder is highly rated by coach Alfred Riedl himself as well as the coaching staff, as he could strengthen Indonesia’s midfield.
“We have issued a call for Stefano Lilipaly. A call-up letter was also sent to his club. Now we will wait for a respond from his club”, PSSI secretary general Azwan Karim said.
The secretary general also revealed that Stefano Lilipaly is expected to train with Indonesia national team from October 20 to October 28, before participating in two friendly matches against Myanmar and Vietnam.
