Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen has announced his intention to reward the Cambodia national team with $50,000 in the event of further wins against Brunei and Timor-Leste, which the Kouprey Blue will face this week.
The Prime Minister, who is a well-known sports fan, also offered congratulations to the team and coach on his official Facebook page.
Previously, Cambodia got their AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 qualification bid off to a perfect start as goals from Prak Mony Udom and Chhin Chhoeun handed coach Lee Tae-hoon’s men a 2-1 win over rivals Laos.
This is not the first time Prime Minister Hun Sen offer a reward for the Cambodia national team. Several weeks ago, the Prime Minister also rewarded each player and coach with $1,000 for winning a friendly match against Sri Lanka.
