Thailand U19 team head coach Anurak Srikerd has offered to resign following a string of bad performances at the 2016 AFC U19 Championship.
Thailand had lost both of their matches at the tournament so far, first at the hands of the South Koreans and Saudi Arabians.
Mathematically, the young War Elephants still have a chance to advance to the quarter-finals, but their chance to record an upset win against host Bahrain is considered very slim.
After the 4-0 defeat against Saudi Arabia, the team’s head coach Anurak Srikerd has offered to resign.
“I’m the coach so I have to take responsibility for the results. I don’t think I’m suitable for the job anymore. I have failed to deliver, and I think I should make way for a better coach”, Anurak Srikerd said in an interview.
“I’ll talk to the president [of the Football Association of Thailand] when we return to Thailand. I’ll leave my job at the end of the tournament”, the former Bangkok Glass said.
