Malaysian side Johor Darul Ta’zim has failed to defend their AFC Cup title, losing 2-4 on aggregate against Indian club Bengaluru in the semi-finals stage yesterday.
Johor Darul Ta’zim started the match brightly and Safiq Rahim quickly scored the opening goal for the visitors.
However, that was all the Malaysian club can do in the evening. A brace from Sunil Chhetri helped Bengaluru gain advantages before Juanan scored the winner later in the match.
The well-deserved victory put Johor Darul Ta’zim against Iraqi side Air Force Club in this year AFC Cup’s final.
