Thailand announces AFF Suzuki Cup squad list

The Football Association of (FAT) has announced a squad list for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Australia on Nov 15 and the AFF Suzuki Cup, which kicks off four days later.

One of the most notable omissions is Thai-Swiss midfielder Charyl Chappuis, who had recovered from a serious injury which kept him out of action for almost 16 months.

The 24-year-old footballer is expected to form a partnership with Bangkok United’s Sanrawat Dechmitr, but both failed to get a call-up from head coach Kiatisuk.

Eight of the national team squad are currently playing for newly-crowned Thai league champions Muangthong United.

The War Elephants is expected to report for duty on October 28 and will participate in a 15-day training session leading up to the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup.

Thailand is in group A at the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup, along with co-hosts Philippines, four-time champions Singapore and Indonesia.
