Sukhothai FC of Thai League made an official appointment of the English football manager, Jason Withe as the club director in order to fulfill the requirement in AFC Champions League.
According to the AFC Regulation, in order to compete in 2017 AFC Champions League, the head coach of the club must hold the Football Pro License from the respectable federation. Sukhothai decided to appoint former BEC Tero Sasana head coach, Jason Withe as the club director and head coach in AFC competition.
The 45-year-old, who is holding UEFA Pro License, will lead Sukhothai in AFC Champions League qualification round while current head coach, Somchai Makmul will continue his responsibilities in domestic games.
Son of former Thailand national head coach Peter, Jason Withe has coached BEC Tero Sasana in 1999-2001 and clinched the double with the Fire Dragons in 2000. He also managed other Thai Club like Bangkok Bank, Songkhla United, PTT Rayong and recently Nakhon Pathom United.
