The Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia has contact the Secretariat to assist the 2016 Feasibility Study for the bidding of the ASEAN 2034 World Cup.
According to leaked documents, six ASEAN nations, i.e, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines will be invited for a joint bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
The proposal for a joint bid was made during the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2014. Initially, it is expected that 10 ASEAN nations will be invited for a World Cup bid.
So far, the 2002 FIFA World Cup is the first and only occasion where the tournament was held in Asia.
