Malaysia national team head coach Ong Kim Swee confirmed that Nasir Basharuddin won’t be able to recover from an injury in time for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup. He will not be picked for the 23-player Malaysia squad for the tournament.
“Nasir has an injury on his groin, and the doctor has scanned him and confirmed a slight abdominal tear.”
“Based on the situation right now, it’s very, very difficult for him to get back (to fitness) on time,” Ong Kim Swee said.
The coach didn’t reveal which player will be called to replace Nasir Basharuddin.
Malaysia is in group B of the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup, along with Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia.
