Hong Kong club Kitchee FC has invited Thai League defending champions Muangthong United to play in a friendly tournament during the Chinese new year in early 2017, according to reports.
Aside from Muangthong United, Kitchee FC also invited Australia U23 team and Korean club Seoul FC to participate in the tournament.
However, Muangthong United hasn’t confirmed the news. The Thai league defending champions are committed to another friendly tour in Laos on January 25 and if they have accepted the invitation from Kitchee FC, it would be quite a busy schedule ahead of the 2017 season.
Muangthong United has won the 2016 Thai League season with 80 points from 31 matches, although the league was canceled early following to the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
